Astral Diaspora: Black To the Future

A year-long exploration of Afro-Futurism. We will analyze the concept of Black futurity through an examination of literature, cinema, fashion, coiffure, music, and other cultural correlates. All meetings will be held In-person on the second-floor of 100 East 23rd Street Baltimore, Maryland 21218 (upstairs from Mama Koko’s Bar). Our meetings are from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  No virtual meetings.  Look forward to meeting  all of you.  We will meet the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.  June 10 and June 24th we will discuss Octavia Butler’s Parable of The Sower.  The syllabus for the year will be distributed during the first meeting.
